I Can Play is what young children say after learning with the book. I Can Play 2 continues to build on piano and musical activities especially created for students who are ages 4-6 and want to start “piano lessons.” The focus is on the whole keyboard, rhythm reinforced by movement, and music reading introduced slowly. When children start to learn, they listen to the language and then take small steps to regular reading. This is similar: note by note, eventually patterns, and when their skill development is ready, real pieces.
Description
I Can Play 2, (in a series of 3 books) continues age appropriate piano lessons for children ages 4-6 years. Young students continue to develop keyboard recognition, rhythm, and music reading through activities created just for them. Skill development is dependent on the motor skills of each individual student. BUT when they are ready, they will have a head start on music reading and comprehension.
The emphasis is on the whole keyboard, and adding concepts through reinforcement. The music reading is not dependent on finger numbers.
The Hello Music Workbooks, 1-3 work well with the keyboard series.
Young children need to sing, move, and play while learning!
